Olivia Chow, a former New Democratic Party MP, is elected Mayor of Toronto, defeating former city councillor Ana Bailo and becoming the city’s first non-White mayor. She takes over for John Tory, who resigned in February after admitting to having an extramarital affair with a colleague.
