A bomb exploded on the road between Sofia and Samokov, near the Bulgarian settlement of Kovachevtsi. The target is thought to have been Bulgaria’s Chief Public Prosecutor Ivan Geshev, whose motorcade was on the road at the time. Officials have classified the blast as a terrorist attack. The culprit and his or her motivations are unknown at this time.
