The Australian government has imposed financial sanctions and travel bans on former GRU officer Sergey Dubinsky, Russian Armed Forces colonel Sergey Muchkaev, and Donbas separatist leader Leonid Kharchenko for their roles in the 2014 shootdown of a Malaysia Airlines flight over eastern Ukraine, which killed 38 Australian citizens.
